Zaila Avant-Garde, a 14-year-old from Harvey, won the Scripps National Spelling Bee and holds the Guinness Book of World Records for juggling the most basketballs at one time!
Camara Dupree
Camara Dupree, Jr, a 16-year-old cello player from Marrero was honored by Councilman Byron Lee. Camara is a 2022 Gold Medalist in the NAACP ACT-SO Awards Instrumental (Classical) Category.
Aleia Hobbs
Aleia Hobbs from Kennedy Heights won a Silver Medal in the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
